Pyrustim
Contains Sodium Pyruvate
Presentation
2ml ampoule - 1%
Composition
Sodium Pyruvate is a low molecular weigth molecule with acetic-acid smell; it is a derivative (alpha keto derivative) of lactic acid.
Actions
Pyruvic acid is used in the body for synthesis of amino acids. Pyruvates are used as supplements for enhancing weightloss.
- Collagen synthesis booster: both AHA and AKA have been showed to stimulate collagen dermal synthesis.
- Energetic Compound: the six-carbon glucose molecule is broken down to two molecules of pyruvic acid. Pyruvic acid is the Alpha Keto Acid (AKA) derivated from lactic acid, which is an Alpha Hydroxy Adid (AHA). Both are considered as the main input for Krebs cycle. Exogenous pyruvate is an excellent energy substrate in vivo, interesting in anti ageing.
- Antioxidant: Pyruvate is a ROS scavenger
- Vaso and cardio-protection
- Lipolysis: pyruvate enhances leptin release and synthesis. Pyruvate increases metabolic rate.
Indications
- Anti-ageing: moderate facial skin ageing and photoageing, collagen synthesis stimulation.
- Lipolysis: Pyruvate is presented as synergetically acting with L-carnitine.
- Antioxidant: after summer or sun baths skin regeneration, smokers skin, protects skin vascularization.
Toxicity
A spectacular protection against neuronal death after forebrain ishemia was induced in rats injected intraperitoneally with sodium pyruvate (500-1000mg/kg), without noticable side effects.
